Before we could say a goodbye to the scorching heat, we planned to visit the newly opened “Barbeque Nation” @ Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi and experience from the delicious value-for-money soul food and mocktails, well-informed service and impressive decor with a welcoming vibe .
It wasn’t just about the food here but also a challenge to push the flag down (Which means you declare – DONE!). So it’s a welcome change to dine in this new Indian restaurant here, where the menu, a gorgeous hardback design,Unlimited range of Barbecues and the Indian Buffet.
I started off with the welcome drink, BBQ Pineapple Mojito (A Classic Mojito with the Barbecued Caramelised Pineapple drink) & the Bahama Mama (Caribbean Sytle a Mix of Blended papaya, apple and pineapple). These mocktails tasted so heavenly. Very rich in flavour and it beats the heat.
As it chilled the throat so satisfyingly, I decided to raise my flag and indicate the team that I was Ready to Strike! Delicious, Colourful, Dripping Barbecues were placed on my table stove. Here I began. Couldn’t resist to pick one and taste them! So mouth watery, tender barbecues which definitely turns you on asking the team to bring in more of them.. A non stop journey on varieties of barbecues continued. The list goes on with Lamb kebab, Chicken Tikka, Masala Wings, Achari Fish and the Ultimate Chilly Garlic Prawns. The vegetarian barbecue consists of Mexican Mushroom, pineapple, Marwadi Paneer Tikka, Crispy Corn, Cajan Spicy Potato.
Additionally a Live Station for the Steak Lovers along with Rice or Noodles. It also included Chicken / Grilled Fish. I did not opt any as I was half way through and not a fan of Beef / Fish.
The buffet did have many finger licking dishes ranging from Salads (Chicken Tikka Salad, Sprouts Beans Salad etc); Main Dishes : Mutton Dum Biriyani, Chicken Biriyani, Bhuna Ghosht, Crab Chilli, Veg Pulao etc). Don’t miss the Mumbai Chat .Very Authentic. Highly recommending it.
For desserts, a range of traditional sweets and pastries – perfect after a carb-laden meal ranging from Coconut Ladoo, Gulab Jamun , Kunafa and yummy Orange Pastry but if, like me, you prefer savoury over sweet, this sorbet (Mocktails) is highly appealing. With all these lovely dishes I had to ultimately Give up the challenge and Push my Flag down.
Service is exemplary, Authentic taste. Highly recommending it. But, You may have to remind the waiters to fill in the barbecues repeatedly . The heat was initially low and had to ask them to increase the heat of the stove and it was immediately done with an apology. l The price point at AED79 per person is ridiculously affordable for a high-end licensed restaurant. We enjoyed every moment being at this place and shall see for regular visits on weekends. 🙂
Finally, A big thanks to Mr Ronney, The manager of this restaurant for his amazing hospitality and charming attitude.
